Alexis Knowles, MA
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Holistic, Compassion-Centered Therapist
I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with the state of Florida and earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Central Florida. My clinical training included evidence-based interventions across a wide range of mental health concerns.
Who I Work With
I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are navigating life transitions and feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Many of the clients I support are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, or ongoing relationship and interpersonal challenges. I have a special interest in working with LGBTQ+ individuals and those seeking a safe, affirming space to explore identity, relationships, and mental health.
Clients often come to me when they’re functioning well on the outside but struggling internally—overthinking, feeling emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to manage their emotions and reactions. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, self-confidence, and practical tools for lasting change.
I also work with couples who want to improve communication, better understand relationship patterns, and strengthen emotional connection. Whether you’re facing recurring conflict, navigating a major life change, or simply wanting to feel closer and more understood, couples therapy can help create clarity, trust, and connection.
My Approach
My approach is integrative and holistic, viewing each client as a whole person — mind, body, and spirit. I draw from several therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs. My style is warm, compassionate, and strength-based, grounded in authentic connection and collaboration.
Some of the theories and frameworks I incorporate include:
Attachment-Oriented and Trauma-Informed Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Systems and Family Theory
Solution-Focused therapy
Spiritual and Mindfulness-Based Practices
The Gottman Method for Couples
Art Therapy
