Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Anevay Norris, MS Therapist at St. Petersburg Holistic Psychology Clinic

Hi there! I’m a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida with a deep passion for helping adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges and find meaningful growth.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. My work is grounded in both evidence-based practice and compassionate care, with the goal of creating a therapeutic partnership built on trust, collaboration, and genuine understanding.

Who I Work With

I specialize in supporting individuals navigating:

Life transitions and personal growth

Self-esteem and body-image concerns

Anxiety, depression, and ADHD

Emotional awareness and regulation

LGBTQ+ and identity exploration

Stress management and burnout

Boundary setting and relationship challenges

College and career planning

Women’s issues and empowerment

Each person’s story is unique, and therapy should reflect that. I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs and goals.

My Approach

Therapy can feel intimidating at first, and that’s completely okay. My role is to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.

I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to support your growth, including:

Person-Centered Therapy

Attachment Theory

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Existential and Interpersonal Therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe that healing begins with connection — when you feel heard, accepted, and empowered to embrace who you are.

A Final Note

Starting therapy takes courage, and I’m honored to walk alongside you as you begin this journey. Whether you’re working through emotional challenges, rebuilding confidence, or developing new coping skills, I’ll be here to help you find clarity, strength, and balance.

Why work with a RMHCI?
