Anevay norris, Ms

Hi there! I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida with a passion for helping adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. With a strong foundation in psychology and counseling, I strive to be both evidence based and compassionate in my approach to therapy. Therapy is a partnership, and I am here to support and guide you as you navigate the path to your personal growth and healing.

I specialize in working with individuals struggling with life transitions, self-esteem and body image concerns, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional identification and regulation, LGBTQ+ and identity exploration, stress and burnout regulation, setting and maintaining boundaries, college and career planning, women’s issues, and more. During our time together, I will integrate a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet your individualized needs. The theoretical orientations I will pull from may include, but are not limited to, Person-Centered Theory, Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Existential Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.

Starting therapy can sometimes feel awkward or intimidating, and it’s completely normal to have hesitations! I will help you work through fears you may have surrounding starting therapy or what this process means for you. My approach to counseling can be described as warm, nonjudgmental, and client-centered. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe and empowered to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own unique pace. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and safety is essential for client success. Whether we are working through deep emotional wounds or developing practical coping skills, my goal is to help you increase self-awareness and confidence in yourself. I am so grateful you are here and I am honored to be a part of the next step in your journey.
